The SOLAR CEMNEX is Signal Group’s flagship turnkey solution for measuring Total Hydrocarbons (THC) and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) in compliance-critical applications.
MCERTS Certified for ranges 15 mg/m³, 30 mg/m³, and 500 mg/m³, it delivers precision, compliance, and flexibility in a single, rack-mounted system — from probe to data output.
Built around Signal’s industry-trusted S4 SOLAR FID, and fully equipped with a heated filter (363SM), heated sample lines, and an automated calibration system, the SOLAR CEMNEX is designed for completely unmanned, continuous operation.

Optional Configuration
Internal heated sample pump
Additional info – signal’s own design of sample pump enables draw of sample through long lengths of line, from sample pressures as low as -0.8barg, and up to 4barg without affecting the readings. Two options of pump are available for different sample pressures. The large pump should be chosen for faster response times with longer lines. If in doubt, ask our experts.
- small (sample pressures from -0.5 to 0.5bar)
- large (sample pressures from -0.8bar to 4bar)
- none (for sample pressures from 0.2bar to 0.5bar)
Display
Additional info – All Solar Cemnex systems come with remote control facilities. Both RS232 and ethernet are available. Additionally, a detachable rugged tablet local display may be chosen.
- blank panel (remote control via RS232 or TCPIP/ethernet only)
- detachable rugged tablet (includes remote control)
Analogue outputs
Additional info – 10 programmable analogue outputs are available. Choose 0-10V or isolated 4-20mA and assign them to concentration, range or other measured parameters such as fuel pressure or sample flow.
- 0-10V
- 4-20mA isolated
Air (if in doubt, please contact us)
Additional info – zero air may be supplied externally or generated internally. For external supply, separate ports are provided for zero, burner and bypass. For internally generated zero air, external ports are also provided for zero and bypass. Internal air compressor options are available to provide complete solution without the need for external air supply.
- External supply (shop air for bypass, zero air or N2 for zero, zero air for combustion)
- small (AS90 – suitable for solvents/low background HCs. Provides zero, combustion. External pressurised air source required)
- large (AS80 – suitable for low measured concentrations/high background HCs. Provides zero, combustion. External pressurised air source required)
- small + internal compressor (AS90 – suitable for solvents/low background HCs. Provides zero, combustion and bypass. No external air source required)
- large + internal compressor (AS80 – suitable for low measured concentrations/high background HCs. Provides zero, combustion and bypass. No external air source required)
Sintered stainless probe
Additional info – signal’s own design of stainless steel probe is 500mm long 10um sintered stainless steel and provides front-line protection for the heated line from particulate.
- yes
- no
363SM front end filter
Additional info – For greater protection for the heated line from particulate, the 363SM provides 0.3um filtration in the form of easily replaceable sintered PTFE filter (other materials available by request). Use with sintered probe for best results in combustion applications.
- yes
- no
Gas entry position
Additional info – heated line and service/calibration gas entry ports may be positioned on the top of the products for easy access from above, or on the back for easy access from the rear. See product pictures for details.
- top entry
- rear entry
Heated line length (metres 1/4”OD PFA)
Additional info – signal’s own manufactured heated lines use proprietary control technology for superior performance. Standard diameter is 3/8”ID and includes dedicated line for calibration gas to be sent to the sample line inlet. Available in lengths from 0.7 up to 30m as standard. Other lengths and diameters available on request.
